A weekend in Denver

This will be my second time living here in Colorado and the Rockies and there is lot’s to see and do. We like to head into the big city every couple of months and and get a change in scenery. Here are some of the things I’ve enjoyed in Denver.

MEOW WOLF

This venue is an amazing immersion with sight and sound. One could easily lose track of time and stay all day. Located conveniently downtown and within walking distance from most hotels.

There are many different exhibits and secret passages to explore. Sometimes it feels a little too much on the senses.

Tickets are variable between 55$ for an all day pass or 36$ for a timed pass. Super fun experience and definitely worth the price for the full day. This wasn’t my first time here and we spent about 3 hours.  My mind was exhausted.

DENVER AQUARIUM

https://www.aquariumrestaurants.com/

“Eating fishes with the fishes ” at the aquarium a short walk from meow wolf. So the pricing at the restaurant is fair and we just had drinks and an appetizer. Believe it or not fried alligator was on the menu and it wasn’t that bad.

Tickets vary from 30$ to 40$ but there are all kind of fun experiences to be had if you have time; shark cage diving, mermaids, and a 4d theater. You can also bundle with https://www.citypass.com and add in the zoo which I recommend. The hyenas were my favorite.

BUTTERFLY PAVILLION

https://butterflies.org/

I absolutely love butterfly gardens and this one’s exceptional.  Butterflies all around so very many and you can watch them hatch. The staff here was amazing they also included a spider exhibition. A little out of the way if your not wanting to drive but our Uber was 13$ and we took the bus and train/tram back for fun to Union station.

The price here runs about 20$ a person but having little butterflies land on your nose and watching there first flights is so worth it.

CRACOVIA a polish restaurant

https://cracoviarestaurant.com/

Big cities have so many food options compared to little mountain towns and we decided to try some Polish offerings.  Excellent choice was Cracovia  our meal was honey beer; borsht 😃, pickle soup and then shared the dinner for one. Plenty of leftovers and so good we bought sausages, perogi and mustard to take home. The bill was about a Benny all in all so great deal.

Then back home to Beaver Creek and Happy hour at Bobs place. So if you find yourself in Colo Rad O, drop me a line and we can hang or ski and eat all the food.
